Role Overview

At CleanStart, we are seeking a Business Development Representative who is responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospects and plays a critical part in building a strong pipeline for the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outbound Prospecting: Identify and engage potential customers through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and leveraging marketing campaigns.
  • Lead Qualification: Assess prospect needs using frameworks like BANT or MEDDIC to ensure alignment with cybersecurity SaaS offerings.
  • Channel Partner Support: Collaborate with regional distributors and resellers to generate joint leads and co-host campaigns.
  • Pipeline Development: Book qualified meetings for Account Executives and Channel Managers, ensuring smooth handoff.
  • CRM Accuracy: Maintain detailed records of interactions, opportunities, and partner activities in the CRM.
  • Market Intelligence: Track cybersecurity trends, compliance requirements (e.g., PDPA, MAS TRM), and competitor positioning in Southeast Asia.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3–4 years in sales development or business development (preferably SaaS or cybersecurity).
    • Familiarity with Southeast Asia markets (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam).
    • Exposure to channel partner ecosystems (distributors, VARs, MSPs).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilient and goal-oriented with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales engagement platforms.
  • Basic understanding of the sales cycle and lead qualification frameworks (e.g., BANT, MEDDIC).

  • Qualified Leads:
    • Minimum 40 Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) per month.
  • Pipeline Contribution:
    • $500K+ in influenced pipeline per quarter.
  • Activity Metrics:
    • 50+ outbound calls per day
    • 100+ emails per week
  • Partner Engagement:
    • 2+ joint campaigns per quarter
    • Leads sourced via partners
  • Conversion Rates:
    • MQL → SQL: 30%
    • SQL → Opportunity: 15%
