Role Overview

At CleanStart, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead educational containerization content development for DevOps and software developers worldwide.

This role combines advanced software development with technical leadership, focusing on architecting comprehensive sample programs that demonstrate enterprise-grade Docker best practices and complex real-world patterns.

You will:

The ideal candidate is an experienced developer with strong technical leadership skills who excels at building production-ready examples and mentoring others through advanced technical concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Maintain Community Repositories

Build community repositories on DockerHub, GitHub, AWS ECR. Build pipelines for daily image rebuild andrepush, image run validations. For new image push generate overview document, manually validatedocument and image runs, make it public upon all successful checks. Build and/ or maintain tools to run,inspect, rebuild, validate images and prepare reports on it

Advanced Sample Application Architecture & Development

Design and architect complex educational Docker sample programs demonstrating enterprisecontainerization best practices across multiple programming languages and frameworks. Lead developmentof sophisticated examples showcasing advanced application architectures including distributedmicroservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native patterns with production-grade implementations.

Enterprise Container Solutions & Documentation Leadership

Develop production-ready Docker files with advanced multi-stage builds, security hardening, andperformance optimization techniques. Lead creation of comprehensive documentation ecosystems,advanced tutorials, architectural decision records, and mentorship programs with complete coverage forcomplex enterprise scenarios.

Technical Leadership & Team Mentoring

Lead technical initiatives within the team, mentor junior engineers, and establish coding standards and bestpractices. Drive architectural decisions, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance oncontainerization strategies and implementation approaches.

Community Leadership & Open-Source Contribution

Drive major open-source initiatives, lead community discussions, and establish CleanStart as a thoughtleader in containerization domain. Contribute significantly to external communities, speak at conferences,and build strategic partnerships with other organizations and maintainers.

Required Qualifications

Programming & Development Proficiency

• Expert in Python, plus strong competency in at least one other language (Java, Go, Node.js, C#)
• Advanced ability to architect and implement complex systems using DSA, design patterns, and software engineering principles
• Expert database integration with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
• Proficient with advanced Git workflows, branching strategies, and release management
• Advanced debugging, performance profiling, and troubleshooting of distributed applications

Containerization & Docker Expertise

• Deep understanding of container fundamentals, security models, enterprise deployment patterns, vulnerability management
• 3+ years of production Docker experience (image building, orchestration, enterprise container management)
• Expert in multi-container architectures, Docker Compose, networking, security configurations
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience (deployments, networking, service mesh integration)
• Experience with Helm charts, operators, CRDs for application packaging and lifecycle management

Cloud & Infrastructure Experience

• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure container services and serverless systems
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and enterprise integration strategies

Leadership & Technical Communication

• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience
• Advanced technical writing and presentation skills
• Contributions to open-source communities (e.g., GitHub)
• Experience leading initiatives, code reviews, and best practices across teams
