Role Overview:
As Senior Manager of Threat Research, you will provide strategic leadership forCleanStart's vulnerability intelligence operations and security advisory services. You willbuild and lead a high-performing team responsible for vulnerability tracking,security scanner integrations, and compliance monitoring. Your executive-levelguidance will shape our threat research roadmap, establish industry partnerships,and ensure our security intelligence capabilities deliver maximum value tocustomers. This pivotal leadership role will directly influence CleanStart's position as aleader in supply chain security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for CleanStart's vulnerability intelligenceplatform
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of threat research engineers
- Establish key performance indicators and drive operational excellence forvulnerability management
- Forge strategic partnerships with security scanner providers (Grype, Snyk,Trivy, etc.)
- Represent CleanStart Security at industry conferences and security forums
- Direct the development of high-value customer security advisories andthreat intelligence reports
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with Product, Engineering, and CustomerSuccess teams
- Oversee compliance monitoring and establish security standards for theorganization
- Develop threat intelligence sharing programs with industry partners andsecurity communities
- Drive innovation in vulnerability assessment, criticality ranking, andexploitability tracking
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years in vulnerabilitymanagement
- 5+ years of people management experience, preferably leading securityteams
- Proven track record of building and scaling security operations
- Executive-level communication skills with experience presenting totechnical and non-technical audiences
- Deep understanding of vulnerability intelligence platforms and securityscanner ecosystems
- Experience establishing security advisory programs and vulnerabilityresponse processes
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks (FIPS, NIST, SOC2, etc.)
- Strategic thinking with ability to translate security concepts into businessvalue
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fieldpreferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a CISO, Director of Security, or similar senior security role
- Background in building security product strategies or security serviceofferings
- Knowledge of container security and software supply chain protection
- Experience establishing industry partnerships and intelligence sharingprograms
- Understanding of threat intelligence platforms and vulnerability databases
- Background in security metrics development and ROI analysis
- Published research or speaking engagements in the security community
- History of successful security product launches or security programimplementations
